Asbestos Training

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 require anyone who may be exposed to asbestos during their normal daily works, including those who manage or supervise those works, to have suitable training on asbestos and the risks associated with exposure.

Additional training is also required for those who may occasionally work with low hazard asbestos-containing materials.

Training will need to be provided for a wide range of trades and number of individuals including construction workers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, fitters and engineers as well as architects, surveyors and similar professionals in the building industries.

We are able to provide UKATA approved Asbestos Awareness, Non-Licensed Work and associated Refresher Training Courses throughout the country at competitive rates, delivered by experienced consultants who have worked within the asbestos management industry and are able to answer any relevant questions.

Types of Asbestos Training

Asbestos Awareness Training is a vital requirement for employers, property owners, facilities managers and all those responsible for Health and Safety within their organisation.

The training is available at our training facilities or at client premises.

The training is generally half a day in duration and depending on client needs can be assessed in a variety of ways. We are able to offer formalised sessions which are followed by a brief multiple choice examination through our partners at the Royal Society of Public Health.

Where necessary our Asbestos Awareness Training can be customised to include details of your organisation’s policies and procedures or more detailed requirements.

This builds upon the training provided at the asbestos awareness level and includes a larger element on the regulatory requirements when dealing with asbestos, along with great theory relating to the handling of asbestos materials.

The course follows the guidance available including a substantive element of practical training which is based upon the activities that individuals will undertake. Courses are available for electricians, plumbers and other building and allied trades. We are able to offer a range of additions to this training including face fit testing and equipment maintenance.

The RSH certificate in asbestos management combines many of the elements of the BIOH course into a two-day course aimed at those who require an understanding of the principles of asbestos management. The roles and responsibilities of those involved in the testing and treatment of asbestos are also examined.
